Collection of personal data
When using the Website for information purposes only, i.e. if you do not register to use the Website, click on social media plugins or otherwise provide us with information, we do not collect any personal data, with the exception of the data that your browser transmits to enable you to visit the Website (namely IP address, browser, data volume transmitted, etc.).
Processing purposes and legal basis
We process personal data in connection with providing our services to you and communicating with you, including sending you newsletters and invitations to events, maintaining our contact list and/or providing you with other information that you may request from us. The processing of your data is necessary to protect our legitimate interests. On the website, you also have the option of leaving your telephone number and/or e-mail address in the appropriate place, which will then be forwarded directly to the respective victim counselling centre.
If you have given us permission to process your personal data for certain purposes (for example, when registering to receive newsletters or making a donation), we process your personal data within the scope of and based on this permission, unless we have another legal basis and do not require one. Consent given can be revoked at any time, but this has no effect on data processing that has already taken place.
Data origin
We only collect personal data that you provide when communicating with us (such as name, e-mail and postal address, telephone number, source of connection and content of communication).
Recipients
We also disclose personal data to third parties, where permitted, in the course of our business activities and purposes. In particular, this involves the following data recipients:
Victim counselling centre(s) in Switzerland, if requested by you accordingly (see "Processing purposes and legal basis" above);
Third parties in the context of fulfilling legal or contractual obligations.
These recipients are partly in Switzerland, but may also be abroad. In particular, you must expect the transfer of your data to all countries where the service providers we use are located. If we transfer data to a country without adequate legal data protection, we will ensure an adequate level of protection as provided by law by using appropriate contracts or by relying on the legal exceptions of consent, performance of contract, establishment, exercise or enforcement of legal claims, overriding public interests, disclosed personal data or because it is necessary to protect the integrity of the data subjects.
